Please work on these assignments with your children not just once during the week, but as often as possible. You may practice in the car, during dinner, or when playing a game. This may seem like a lot to take on when there is other school work, but the more you practice, the quicker your child's speech and language will improve. 10-15 minutes a night can make all of the difference!

 

If you observe your child making an error in his speech or language, it is okay to correct him or her from time to time if the errors are consistent. For example, if your child says "I pet the tat", you can say, "Should we say "tat" or "cat"?" Most of the time, he or she will be able to make the correction when given a reminder. If he or she is becoming frustrated because they are having trouble saying a certain sound or practicing a certain language concept, come back to it in a few weeks. We will continue to work on it in speech!
