Meet Miss Grierson

     Hello! My name is Julie Grierson.  Prior to being a reading specialist, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a dual certification in Early Childhood Education from Millersville University.  I taught third grade for two years and fourth grade for six years. While teaching, I obtained my master's degree in Literacy Education and a Reading Specialist certificate from Penn State Harrisburg.   I am also a fellow for the Capital Area Writing Project through Penn State Harrisburg.  It is a privilege to work in the Lower Dauphin School District.

     I believe that in order for students to grow, instruction must be based on their individual needs.  In the Reading Center, I work with students who would benefit from more individualized literacy instruction.  My goal is to instill a love for reading and writing in my students.  Therefore, I provide them with effective strategies so they feel more confident as readers and writers.  I look forward to working with your child!
